My name is Mircea Horobet and I run Adventures in Romania. Nature travel and fishing are my great passions, and one of my greatest joys is to share them with others and to help people discover Romania as I see it: authentic, beautiful and full of surprises.

I build each itinerary with care, combining local knowledge, safe logistics and a love for wild places. Whether you come for hiking, fishing or a broader cultural journey, I focus on real experiences and personal attention.

With my wife and two children I have been exploring sections of the Via Transilvanica by bike over the last four years—we started when my son was 11 and my daughter was 9. I will not say it is easy but it is the most beautiful thing that we did as a family. At the end of each day, exhausted, we felt stronger and closer.

Each year we take part together in fishing competitions in the Danube Delta and spend days on end on the water. I am not alone on these adventures: I draw on a network of trusted contacts and partners to offer you the best possible experiences. On the Via Transilvanica we have local contacts along most of the route, so we can connect you with people who really know their region. For fishing, you benefit from the experience of my partner, Rares Boeriu, one of the best anglers in Romania, multiple-time captain of the Romanian Fishing Team at world championships and winner of many competitions.
